Abstract
The research was carried out from September to December 2012 in the experimental field of Agriculture and Animal Science of Sultan Syarif Kasim Islamic University. The objective of the research was to find the best of organic fertilizer and population and interaction between of organic fertilizer and population on growth and yield of cucumbers. The experiment was used randomized complete designs with two factors. The first factor was kinds of organic fertilizer that consisted of no fertilizer, chicken manure and compost of oil palm empty fruit bunches. The second factor was plant population/hill with consist 1, 2, and 3 plant/hill. The parameters were plant height, stem diameter, weight of fruit/plant and number of fruit/ plant, weight of fruit/ pot, number of fruit/ pot. Result showed that chicken manure can increased growth and yield on cucumber. Two plants/ hill population increased number of fruit/pot. Interaction between chicken manure and 1 plant/ pot increased weight of fruit/ plant and plant dry weight
