Abstract

Research was conducted from March until August 2013 at the experiment farm of the Agriculture and Animal Science Faculty of Islamic State University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau. The objective of the research was to find the best generative growth stadia and yield of two varieties of soybean. Experimental design was completely randomized design factorial with 2 factors. The first factor was 2 different varieties (Tangggamus and Tidar), the second factor was generative growth stadia (R6 = full seed, R7 = beginning maturity, R8 = full maturity). The result of the research showed that the generative growth stadia of R7 gave the best seed germination. Difference of generative growth stadia did not gave effect to number of productive branch/plant, number of pod/plant,and seed dry weight/plant. Tanggamus variety had plant height 8 WAP, number of pod/plant, 25 seed weight and seed dry weight/plant better than Tidar variety. There were interaction between generative growth stadia and variety on seed germination, plant dry weight and number of seed/plant.
