Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the students’ ability in identifying personal pronouns in English sentences at SMPN 4 Tapung Hilir Kampar. This research was descriptive-quantitative. The total population of this research was 125 students, the researcher used random sampling techniques and the sample was 25 students. The technique of collecting the data was test which consisted of 40 questions. In analyzing the data, the researcher used descriptive-statistic in the form of mean and percentage. The result of this research showed that the students’ ability in identifying personal pronouns is categorized into insufficient level. The type of personal pronouns which the most difficult to identify by the students is possessive adjectives.
