Abstract

ABSTRACT Suci Rahmadhani, (2020): The Effectiveness of Using Communicative Method with Guess the Word Yes or No Game in Increasing Student Speaking Skill at Boarding School of Al-Irsyad Bulaan Kamba It was an experimental research, and it aimed at knowing the effectiveness of using Communicative method with Guess the Word Yes or No game in increasing student speaking skill at Boarding School of Al-Irsyad Bulaan Kamba. The formulation of the problem was “was the use of Communicative method with Guess the Word Yes or No game effective in increasing student speaking skill at Boarding School of Al-Irsyad Bulaan Kamba?”. This research was started by planning the lesson plan, implementing, observing, and testing. The seventhgrade students of Boarding School of Al-Irsyad Bulaan Kamba in the Academic Year of 2020/2021 were the population of this research, and the samples were the seventh-grade students of B class as the experimental group and the students of C class as the control group. The subjects of this research were the seventh-grade students of classes B and C. The object was the effectiveness of using Communicative method with Guess the Word Yes or No game in increasing student speaking skill at Boarding School of Al-Irsyad Bulaan Kamba. Observation and test were the instruments of collecting the data. Based on the data analysis, it could be concluded that the use of Communicative method with Guess the Word Yes or No game was effective in increasing student speaking skill at Boarding School of Al-Irsyad Bulaan Kamba because to 2.97 was higher than tt 2.69 at 1% significant level and 2.02 at 5% significant level. It meant that H0 was rejected, and Ha was accepted. In other words, the use of Communicative method with Guess the Word Yes or No game was effective in increasing student speaking skill at Boarding School of Al-Irsyad Bulaan Kamba.
