Abstract
This study was conducted in January 2011 in Subdistrict of Bangkinang Seberang Kampar Regency. The purpose of this study was to know the response of oestrus in female swamp buffalo injected by PGF2α. Variables measured were the onset of oestrus, duration of oestrus and the percentage of oestrus. Fifteen female swamp buffaloes were used as the sample that were 2,5 years old, not oestrus and not pregnant. The PGF2α was injected to the buffaloes intramuscularly as much as 5 ml. Injections were made twice at intervals of 11 days. Two days after the second injection were examined every morning at 6 - 10 a.m and the afternoon at 16 – 18 p.m. The results showed that injection of PGF2α to female swamp buffaloes at intervals of 11 days coused of onset of oestrus 39±10,4 hours, oestrus duration of 29,9±2,16 hours and oestrus percentage of 100%.
