Abstract

This study was conducted in July to August 2010. The research location was at UPT Ruminansia Besar Dinas Peternakan Kabupaten Kampar. This study aimed to 1) know the average of milk production, percentage of milk lipid and forage intake, 2) determine the relationship between milk production to the percentage of milk lipid and forage intake on FH (Fries Holland) at UPT Ruminansia Besar Dinas Peternakan Kabupaten Kampar. This study used survey method with the observed variables included 1) the production of milk, 2) the percentage of milk lipid, and 3) forage intake. It could be concluded that 1) the milk production of dairy cows was low (5.62 ± 1.45 liters / head / day), the percentage of milk lipid within the normal range (3.37%), the forage intake of cow's was 37.24 ± 1.87 kg/head/day and 2) the percentage of milk lipid and forage intake did not correlate significantly to FH cow milk at UPT Ruminansia Besar Dinas Peternakan Kabupaten Kampar.
