Abstract
This research was conducted in February up to March 2011 in Pekanbaru Municipality. The study was conducted to determine the case of Avian Influenza and distribution patterns of native chickens in 10 traditional in of the markets. The swab specimens were collected from trachea and cloaca of the native chickens in the 10 traditional markets then examined by Haemaglutination testand Obstacle Haemaglutinationat Virology Laboratory of the Veterinary Investigation Center (BPPV) Regional II Bukittinggi. The results showed that there was no native chickens suffering from Avian Influenza. The pattern of distribution of the native chickens sold at 10 traditional markets included area Municipality of Pekanbaru (12 sub districts), outside region of Pekanbaru Municipality (Kampar Regency) and outside region of Riau Province (West Sumatera).
