Abstract
A research was conducted to evaluate the successfulness of the cattle artificial insemination (AI) program at District of Bungaraya - Siak Regency. The evaluation based on the Service per Conception (S/C) ratio and pregnancy rate (the percentage of the pregnant cows at first AI) achieved by the program. There were 607 cows were observed during 2008 and 470 cows observed during 2009. The results indicated that during the year of 2008, the S/C and pregnancy rate achieved were 1.23 ± 0.09 and 89.76 ± 3.48 %. During the year of 2009, the S/C and pregnancy rate achieved were 1.03 ± 0.06 and 98.71 ± 2.94 %. Based on these research results, it was concluded that the cattle artificial insemination (AI) program at the District of Bungaraya - Siak Regency was successful.
