Abstract
This research was correlational research design. It was aimed to find out the correlation between students’ habit of listening to English songs and their pronunciation. There were two variables used in this research, which were X variable (students’ habit of listening to English songs) and Y (students’ pronunciation). The subject of this research was the first grade of senior high school PGRI Pekanbaru whereas as object of this research was the correlation between habit of listening to English songs and pronunciation. The population of this research was 133 students. The researcher took 25% as sample, therefore, total sample are 33 students. In order to choose the sample, the researcher used simple random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher used questionnaire for measuring habit of listening English songs and test for pronunciation. From the data analysis which had been done by using SPPS 20 version, it could be shown by the explanation; 1) The score of correlation coefficient is 0.619 > 0.3440 in significant level of 5% and 0.2913 in significant level of 1% (see the table of product moment), it means that Ha was accepted which indicated that there is a significant correlation between students’ habit of listening to English songs and their pronunciation. 2) The probability of score sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. It means that Ha was accepted. In other words, there is a significant correlation between students’ habit of listening to English songs and their pronunciation.
