Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the role of the Customs and Excise Supervision and service Office in the monitoring of goods smuggling issues in Tanjung Balai Karimun, and to determine the barriers to the Office of Customs and Excise supervision and services in Supervising the problem of smuggling goods in Tanjung Balai Karimun. The data collection techniques the authors use in this study are observations, interviews, and documentation. Then the data analysis technique that the authors use in this research is a qualitative descriptive, are the collected data is processed and analyzed by elaborating and associating with the data offerings needed to answer Each issue, then provide an interpretation of the relevant results, then drawn conclusions and suggestions. The research informant as many as 9 people, namely, head of office, head of Oppoenas and investigation. Intelligence Kasubsi, Oppoenas and operation facilities, investigation Kasubsi and other action results, section head of Information Services counseling, head of Data Processing and document administration, and society. The results of this study showed that the Customs and excise part of the intelligence department is good enough, so that their plan in conducting investigations no one knows, the patrol party has done its job in conducting good patrol on the ground As well as in the sea, and the last of the enforcement parties is good enough in conducting and confiscation of illegal goods.
