Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze students’ ability in writing analytical exposition text at the elevnth grade students of senior high school 10 Pekanbaru. This study was a descriptive research. The subject of this research was the eleventh grade students of Senior High School 10 Pekanbaru while the object of this research was students’ ability in writing analytical exposition text. The researcher used purposive sampling technique to take the sample. There were 37 students as sample from 375 students. To collect the data, the researcher used test as instrument. The test was conducted to find students’ ability in writing analytical exposition text. The total score of the students’ ability was 2850 and the mean score 77.02 in Very Good level. It was the specific result about the students’ ability in writing analytical exposition text. The content was 20.87%, organization 18.42%, grammar 21.42%, vocabulary 20.87%, and mechanics 18.42%. The researcher could be concluded that the students have very good ability in writing analytical exposition text. Keywords: Analysis, Writing, Analytical Exposition Text
