Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the correlation between students' participation in English club and their speaking fluency at State Vocational High School Ibnu Taimiyah Pekanbaru. The design of this research is expost facto reseach design. From the 15 students as a population in English club member the researcher chose 8 students as a sample. The sample by using simple accidentally sampling. To get the data, the researcher gave questionnaire and oral test. Then analyzed the data by using pearson product moment calculated by SPSS 16.0 program. After analyzing the data, the result of sig.t .009 is smaller than 0.05 (sig.≤ 0.05). It could be stated that Ha (alternative hypothesis) is accepted. In other words, there is a significant the correlation of students’ participation in English club and their speaking fluency at State Vocational High School Ibnu Taimiyah Pekanbaru.
